The Royal Canadian Navy’s fifth Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ship (AOPS), the future HMCS Frédérick Rolette, was launched today, December 9, 2023, at Halifax Shipyard. The launch of the fifth of six AOPS for the Royal Canadian Navy, marks a significant milestone for Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) and the revitalization of the Royal Canadian Navy’s combatant fleet. The 103-metre future HMCS Frédérick Rolette transitioned from Halifax Shipyard’s land level facility to a submersible barge on December 8 and launched in the Bedford Basin. The ship is now pier side at Halifax Shipyard where work continues in preparation for sea trials and handover to the Royal Canadian Navy in September 2024.
Inside Halifax Shipyard’s facilities, the Royal Canadian Navy’s sixth AOPS, the future HMCS Robert Hampton Gray and the first AOPS variant for the Canadian Coast Guard are under construction, with work progressing as planned. A generation of shipbuilders will deliver six AOPS for the Royal Canadian Navy, two AOPS for the Canadian Coast Guard, and 15 Canadian Surface Combatant ships for the Royal Canadian Navy as part of the NSS. Charles Frédérick Rolette was born in Québec City on September 23, 1785, and joined the Royal Navy as a midshipman while a young teen. He distinguished himself during the War of 1812, earning a reputation as a bold and quick-thinking officer. The historical Canton of Rolette, located on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, roughly 50 km southeast of the town of Montmagny, Québec, near the American border, was established in 1868 in his honour.
Just before the outbreak of the War of 1812, Rolette was posted to Amherstburg, Upper Canada (now Ontario) as Lieutenant in command of the brig General Hunter. When word of the outbreak of war reached Amherstburg on July 3, 1812, Rolette acted immediately, capturing an American vessel, the Cuyahoga, before the American crew even realized that their country had declared war on Britain. This was the first action of the War of 1812 and a significant prize as the Cuyahoga carried the American commander General William Hull’s papers and dispatches. This provided the British with significant early intelligence on American strength and deployment. At a time when it was not yet customary to award medals to military personnel in recognition of conspicuous gallantry, Lieutenant Rolette was mentioned in dispatches by senior military officers on several occasions during the war.
The Halifax Shipyard Limited is a Canadian shipbuilding company located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Founded in 1889, it is today a wholly owned subsidiary of Irving Shipbuilding Inc. and is that company’s largest ship construction and repair facility. The shipbuilders of Irving Shipbuilding have constructed over 80% of Canada’s Navy at sea today.
Work is now underway building the next generation of combatant vessels for those who bravely serve. Six Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ships (AOPS) and 15 Canadian Surface Combatants (CSC) will be built to replace the frigates built in the 1980s and 1990s. Two custom designed AOPS for the Canadian Coast Guard have also been confirmed. Shipbuilding in Canada is creating jobs, driving innovation, and fueling local economies across the country. The work being done is a generational employment opportunity, generating a coast-to coast-to coast supply chain that has seen over $5.347 billion in investments.

Several current and former WWE stars have reacted to an emotional announcement Becky Lynch recently made on social media.
The Man issued an update on her latest project relating to her memoir, Becky Lynch: The Man: Not Your Average Average Girl. The six-time world champion revealed in an emotional Instagram post that she would also be the voice narrating the audiobook for it.
Lynch posted a picture in her recording studio and confirmed that the audiobook would have her voice, stating the following message: “My words. My voice. This book is all me.”
A lot of Becky Lynch’s peers liked the post, with some of them commenting on it. RAW star Katana Chance and SmackDown commentator Kevin Patrick, among others, sent words of encouragement below the post.
Sami Zayn, Big E, and Liv Morgan are the most notable names of those who liked it. All three of them are currently off RAW and SmackDown for various reasons. A few former WWE Superstars also liked the post, including Claudio Castagnoli (fka Cesaro), Brie Bella, and Mandy Rose.

The Man’s memoir is scheduled to be released on March 26 but can be pre-ordered now. Several major WWE names, including John Cena, Stephanie McMahon, and Stone Cold Steve Austin, have already given positive reviews about the book.
Will Becky Lynch win the 2024 Royal Rumble Match?
Lynch declared for this year’s 30-woman Royal Rumble Match, instantly becoming one of the favorites to win. She will likely be the biggest star in the entire field, which does bode well for her chances. As a result, The Man could become the first woman to win two Rumbles.
She can then challenge Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 40. The two have been teasing a match for a while, with the anticipation growing every time they stare each other down.

The situation between Liv Morgan, Becky Lynch, and Dominik Mysterio took another strange turn in the main event of WWE RAW.
After Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh, Finn Balor, and Braun Strowman appeared around the cage, Morgan escaped the structure to retain the Women’s World Championship. With the win, she has defeated Becky Lynch in two back-to-back matches.
The post-match antics, however, will have the WWE Universe talking. As Morgan left the ringside area, she passed Dominik and planted a huge kiss on his lips. The Women’s World Champ likely did so for one of the next four reasons.
#4. To thank him for helping her retain
Liv Morgan can thank Dominik Mysterio again after RAW.
Occam’s Razor states, ‘The simplest answer is usually the correct one.’ Liv Morgan could be playing mind games with the younger Mysterio.
He’s proven to be an impressionable young man, especially regarding the women he encounters. Rhea Ripley has easily influenced Dominik, and now that she isn’t around, he may be turning his attention elsewhere.
Morgan knows this and could have planted a giant kiss on Dominik to confuse him. Additionally, she may have wanted to show her gratitude with a kiss for the help beating Lynch.
#3. Her plan extends to breaking up the Judgment Day

We didn’t receive an itinerary or manifesto for The Liv Morgan Revenge Tour, so that could mean that anything is on the table. She’s mad at Ripley but also with the Judgment Day.
She and Finn Balor were the first victims when Ripley and Priest joined Edge’s side. Mami turned on Liv and became one of the most popular stars in professional wrestling. Since the group has prospered off her back, Morgan probably wants to sow discord in the group.
McDonagh and Balor came to the ring to stop Dominik, but everything went haywire for the faction. Breaking up the group that started by turning on her has to be on the agenda for her Revenge Tour.
#2. Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio are in cahoots
They didn’t share much screen time before, but Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio didn’t regularly cross paths until after Rhea Ripley was shelved with an injury. The duo shared a few staredowns after the attack.
However, in other random backstage segments, the two can be seen leaving the same room. WWE has done a great job of using Easter eggs and having important angles play out in the background during backstage interviews or segments.
There’s every chance that what has played out on screen is all an act and part of Morgan and Mysterio’s plan. Dominik may not be as naive as everyone thinks, but he sees Morgan as a way to get out of Judgment Day. Getting Dom to betray Mami would be the cherry on Morgan’s master plan.
#1. Continued trolling of the absent Rhea Ripley
Injuring her bitter enemy was the first step. By hurting Rhea Ripley, Morgan forced Mami to vacate her title. The insult of dropping the title was a part of that injury.
Like with Drew McIntyre and CM Punk, Punk is injured, but McIntyre hasn’t stopped taking shots at Punk. When given the chance, Morgan reminded everyone that she had put Ripley on the shelf. It’s a new wrinkle under Triple H where injured stars are acknowledged and sometimes allowed to appear during RAW or SmackDown.
Since Morgan already injured Mami and took her title, the next best way to get revenge would be to steal her ‘man.’ Kissing Dominik would enrage the injured former champion, and Morgan knew that.
Ripley isn’t on RAW and cannot do anything about it. Whether or not Dominik liked it could be the next step in the Liv Morgan Revenge Tour.
