With 7 Little Johnstons currently between seasons, a lot of viewers may wonder exactly how much TLC shells out per episode for the fan-favorite family. And, considering the amount, it’s no wonder why Trent, Amber, and the rest of the brood keep coming back for more.
TLC Not Always So Generous with Their Paychecks
Even though TLC is known to pay big bucks for popular families like the Duggars, the Little People Big World brood, and even the now-canceled The Little Couple family, not all shows are created equal when it comes right down to the dollar amount.
In fact, 90 Day Fiance celeb Deavan Clegg recently spoke out about how much the network paid her to film The Other Way scenes with her now ex, Jihoon Lee. And, according to Deavan, she barely broke even.
And, that’s because, according to her, she had to pay for a lot of things out of pocket, including travel, parking, and food. So, all in all, it wasn’t the big net gain that some people think it is. Especially when you consider she was paid $1,000 per episode and $1,500 for the Tell-All.
7 Little Johnstons Bringing in the Big Bucks?
When it comes to the 7 Little Johnstons brood, the narrative is vastly different – along with the paycheck. And, considering this TLC family has been on the air since 2015, they’ve certainly built a thriving fan base to warrant a pretty penny.
It turns out, the network budgets between $250k to $400k per episode. And, of that amount, the TLC family takes home anywhere from $25k to $40k per episode, or 10 percent of the filming budget.
And, when you consider that most of the 7 Little Johnstons children were young when filming began, this certainly set them up for the type of success they see now, as the last of the children approaches adulthood.
7 Little Johnstons Family Not Hurting for Cash
Indeed, there’s no question that the 7 Little Johnstons family is sitting pretty. Trent and Amber purchased their family home for a cool $486k. And, not too long ago, even Anna Johnston branched out on her own, becoming a homeowner herself.
And, on top of that, each of the 7 Little Johnstons siblings has their own things going on, with Anna, Alex, and Emma all running their own businesses. Meanwhile, even Jonah got himself back on track recently.
So, if nothing else, it’s clear that the 7 Little Johnstons family has used their TLC exposure to the fullest, and maximized it to its full potential along the way.
Of course, there has been speculation making the rounds for some time that the TLC family is getting close to hanging it up. But, with everything they have going for them, it’s clear they won’t be hurting for cash once they decide to ride off into the sunset (and away from network cameras).
