Sister Wives’ Christine Brown on How Her Fiancé Reacted to Janelle Being Part of Her Package Deal

Christine Brown, a prominent figure from the hit reality show “Sister Wives,” recently revealed her journey into the dating world, navigating not only six children but also the presence of her sister wife, Janelle Brown. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Christine, 51, shared the story of how she met her fiancé, David Woolley, and the unique dynamics of their relationship.

Christine’s connection with David Woolley was nearly instantaneous. After just two dates, she realized that they had something truly special between them. However, Christine was apprehensive about her complex family situation, which included a sister wife and a combined total of 14 children.

When Christine finally mustered the courage to reveal her reality to David, she was pleasantly surprised by his response. She candidly told him, “I have a lot of kids, and I have a sister wife, and everywhere I go, Janelle has to come with me, and all of her children come with me too. There’s not just me.” David’s reaction was surprisingly accepting, as he responded with a simple, “Okay. Okay.”

While David Woolley may not be a polygamist himself, he had prior knowledge of polygamy and a deep understanding of the lifestyle. Christine emphasized that their connection was effortless, describing him as “just chill.”

Blending their families presented its own set of challenges, given that David had eight children and Christine had six. However, this turned out to be a positive aspect for Christine. She stated, “When I found out he had so many kids, I was like, ‘Yes.’ Because I’m not so complicated anymore.” Fortunately, their children get along exceptionally well, fostering a harmonious environment within their family.

Before her relationship with David, Christine was in a plural marriage with Kody Brown, another prominent figure from “Sister Wives.” After 25 years of what they referred to as a “spiritual marriage,” Christine and Kody separated in 2021. Janelle, Meri, and Robyn, Kody’s other wives, also went on to separate from him in subsequent years.

Reflecting on her journey, Christine expressed her happiness with David Woolley’s unconditional love and acceptance. She remarked, “I come with a lot of complications, and he loves me, and that’s the best thing of all.”

One significant difference between her current relationship and her previous one is the profound love and acceptance she feels from David. Christine emphasized, “I think the most important thing that’s different is David loves me. He loves me, just for me.”

While Christine’s marriage to Kody may not have lasted forever, she sees it as a success. She stated, “Just because I left, it doesn’t mean we failed. It means there’s change. Our goal was to raise incredible children, and we did. It was a success for us.”
